Think i'll try this option, but which is the best psone wipeout to get. I'm not that up on wipeout as i've never even played it at all ever!!. Is there one with the prodigy in it?

Thats a good idea as wioeout on PS 1 is not all that different to the PS 2 version, the gameplay is relatively the same.
It would be cheaper to buy a used PS 1 version and play it on ur PS 2.

I rented Wipeout from blockbuster, and it really wasn't worth the rental
the graphics are better than the ps1 version, but not worth the extra cash.

You'll love the game there's no doubt about it.
The actions, gameplay, graphics, sound and the emphasis on 'small detail' is simply out of this world.

Get MGS2 without a doubt. I got Wipeout Fusion on release and thought it was great but I stopped playing it about 2 weeks later and I haven't played it at all since.
