Being so consumed with arguing the superiority of their console of choice, they are oblivious to the obvious fact that they are buying the same game over and over again, with the only difference being in minor graphical improvements.
Most obviously with titles that 'prove platform superiority' they will often purchase mediocre software under the assumption that popularity of a title therefore constitutes quality.
Very much alike the unfortunate individuals who frequent the artistic cinematic releases, not because the enjoy the film, but because of the misguided belief that they are so much the deeper for watching the monotony.
So mistaken are these individuals, that they seem to have forgotten that the point of gaming is for enjoyment. Not even playing for fun, they play under the misguided opinion that since their console has the best titles, their largely unhappy and lonely existence has some validity.
These are the gamers who argue most staunchly against the outdated idea of lonely geeky computer nerds, yet at the same time, and with an ironically even Americans can readily understand, are the exact geek gamers from whom the unwanted stereotype is derived.
Understand, that it is you, gamers, who are holding back the development of the gaming medium, not the casual gamer, not the gamer who fails to scour every magazine & internet review before purchasing a title, but you, ho feels that your console is the best, and that all other fail, those who believe without any sense of sarcasm or irony that the Nintendo are purely about innovation, that Sony are about choice, that MS are provide the gaming for gamers.
As selfish as is sounds, gaming is about personal enjoyment, and in that respect very much like sex, its those that aren’t getting any that feel the need to criticise.
Gaming is supposed to be about having fun, something that so many seemingly find that hard to understand, shows that maybe you need to take a step back, a deep breath and resolve a few of the conflicts within your real lives?
Its not a competition, its not a race, sit back and enjoy.

Obviously at the very least, Nintendo games are/were overpriced or they wouldnt have been fined for price fixing?
I dont think the problem comes from the developers end (people who seem to see very little return) more from distributers (e.g. EA) and especially console manufacturers (notably Nintendo)...

Why ? I don't think games are over priced, and if everyone does stop buying then they'll only buy more the week after its over anyway.

My favourite being:
"Nintendo found guilty of price-fixing."
"But they only did cos they love us!"
Everyone should download MAME, do some ripping of their own.
