So is the most expensive next gen console all its cracked up to be?? In short yes, it will not fail to disappoint even the most sceptic xboxers out there! The machine itself is a work of art, a little on the large side, but looks aren’t everything!
The user menu is a great feature that has been taken from the PSP; it is completely user friendly and allows you to navigate around the system with ease. The features that are available range from playing music/movies and games to surfing the internet from the comfort of your living room couch.
The main reason you would part with that hard earned cash for this console is the games right?! At release there were a few that really shone through, not an amazing launch collection but enough to get your mouth watering. With bigger and better titles coming out every week, the collection will continue to get stronger. It's a pricy console but you get so much for your money. The console houses a blue ray player, as well as playing this new type of disc the PS3 will also play DVD's.
As well as being able to play multiplayer with your friends and family, you can venture online. Oh yes, many of the games have online features and boy does this increase the lifespan of your games. A really great feature and free to use, no cost for playing your PS3 games online (you still need an IP!)
To summarise, if you are looking to spend out and buy a PS3 you will not be disappointed. The games coming up are going to be mind blowing. If you are looking for a console that will give you everything you could possibly want from gaming, with tons of extra features then this really is the piece of kit for you.
For a start the PS3 handles more media formats (including DIVX now that firmware 2.0 is out) and connects straight to your PC without any faffing about. But using TVersity, it works with almost every format you can think of and you can even download and store movies, music and pictures on the PS3 hard drive from your PC.
Anyway, agree with your review, it's a great machine and as we start to see titles like the excellent Uncharted and Ratchet & Clank it's clear it will soon build up a great selection of games.
