I know freeola don't support .htaccess on there servers but I've seen a site hosted on freeola using .htaccess.

So what required to make it work?

I admint to not knowing what this file does.

.htaccess is a file that lets you redefine Apache's rules on a directory (up to a point) without having to mess with the config file (called access.conf).

It's called ".htaccess", with a dot in front, because .anything is a hidden file and can't be viewed.

I admit to not having a clue how they got a .htaccess in the webspace though, because the last time I did that I destroyed mine! Actually, I haven't a clue what could possible stop them from being usable, either...
