Teachers must use professional judgement into the insight of education of the pupil. They need to choose the best ways to motivate the pupil to success. The ways to guide their work is to use assessments.

Teachers have high expectations for all pupils, regardless of background, personal circumstances and different needs. Teachers strive to make the pupil develop intellectually and personally, and to safeguard the child health and safety. Teachers try to inspire children by fairness, honesty, patience and a genuine concern and appreciation of different backgrounds.

Teachers entering the teaching profession in England have been trained to a professional standard that has prepared them for the rigours and realities of the classroom. They understand that maintaining and developing their skills, knowledge and expertise is vital to achieving success. They take responsibility for their own continuing professional development, through the opportunities available to them, to make sure that pupils receive the best and most relevant education. Teachers continually reflect on their own practice, improve their skills and deepen their knowledge. They want to adapt their teaching appropriately to take account of new findings, ideas and technologies.

Teachers respond sensitively to the differences in pupils’ home backgrounds and circumstances and recognise the importance of working in partnership with parents and carers to understand and support their children’s learning. They endeavour to communicate effectively and promote co-operation between the home and the school for the benefit of young people.

Teachers support the place of the school in the community and appreciate the importance of their own professional status in society. They recognise that professionalism involves using judgement over appropriate standards of personal behaviour.

The reason these codes of practice are in place is because they make teachers and pupils from all backgrounds comfortable and maximises the learning potential of students.

That is what all teachers should abide to, so why oh why do we hear teachers are always abusing their power and use it for their peidophilliac needs.

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the 21st century.

Most teachers are great at teaching, it's just most kids can't be bothered to learn from them nowdays, and they have no real power to enforce it.

My mum's a teacher. And she isn't a paedophile and she doesn't swear at or abuse her class. She teaches at an inner city primary school, and some of her pupils are terrible. Don't blame teachers as a whole for something that one or two individuals may have done - that's incredibly single minded and pathetic, frankly.

Not really sure why that's in here, nor why you tar all teachers with the same brush. Some teachers are excellent, why the disillsionment?
