Does anyone else think that the sheer size of the x-box is a bit too much to handle? the control pads are like hold video tapes in my hand and trying to play a game. My cousin has brought his x-box over to mine to let me have a look, but I must admit that this thing is more like a monster more than a games machine, yes it has good graphics and capabilities.

I was thinking about buying one but im now having second thoughts because of how it's been made and the disk scratching problem.

What does everyone else think?

Not whinging? Certainly sounds like it to me based on that comment!! All I can say is you must have a very small TV, and in such a case you probably can't see the screen well enough to play the games anyway.

The XBox is not huge. Yes, it is the biggest console of the 3, but that means what? Well, actually, it means you are getting a whole lot of hardware stuffed in there. This thing is heavy, and for a reason. Do you moan about the size of video recorders? Satellite receivers? No, thought not, and the XBox is smaller than those.

Either you are simply repeating things others have said, or you are just brainwashed into thinking that a games console has to be small, cute, and fluffy.

As for the controller, you so obviousely haven't "really" used one. Yes, it is big, but totally 100% functional. My hands aren't large but it feels perfect. Again, people assume that a controller has to be small just because other consoles have small controllers. Hell, if you can't manage just import some Japanese controllers - no big deal.

Again, with the disc scratching thing you are being sucked in to what everyone else and the press is saying. Less than 1% of XBox buyers in Japan reported this problem. This is well within the industry standard of failure rates, and a lot lower than what SONY had reported. On top of this, it is actually thought that a lot of the scratched discs were scrathced during the manufacturing process, and not by the XBox itself.

For once, please start thinking for yourself and then make a decision. You'll thank yourself in the end. Do you want the ultimate games machine or not? If so, you know what to do.

I'm not 100% sure... but I'm in one of those moods where I'm likely to think "**** it" and just go and buy one!

Alongside?!

When I get mine, I'll be throwing out my TV stand and putting the TV on top, with the VCR and DVD player inside the Xbox. :-)
