A few questions for you linux buffs, first of all what sort installation should i do, should it be server or workstation? also what is Gnome and KDE, i am going to have this pc on a netwrok with windows computers, can i do this.

b) GNOME and KDE are graphical environments. Having tried both extensively, I can say GNOME is better but you'll probably want to upgrade the version that comes with RH to something... newer.
c) Yes. If you want them to talk though you need Samba protocols.
