Earlier this afternoon, I decided to have a look at some clips of some future games for Nintendo's machines at their UK website. Although only being able to see two clips of Metroid Fusion for the Game Boy of the Advance design, I was amazed by the quality shoved into them!

By the quality Super NES-style music and the retro-shooting effects, I could tell that this game is going to be a fantastic addition to my Game Boy collection, if not the best game in my collection, until SNES-port 'A Link to the Past' gets a UK release.

But it's not just Metroid Fusion that has got my juices flowing this November. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle and Eternal Darkness are both additions to my gaming collection that both reek of fun! The kind of fun that was very hard to find in the era of the Playstation and Nintendo 64. Granted there were many games for both consoles that were good, but not as good as some that I have played both in the past and more recently.

What is good is that Nintendo are starting to bring back some variety into their games by first and second parties. No longer are we forced with the bright and colourful, but we have the choice of games such as those suited for a more older audience such as Eternal Darkness and Metroid Prime - as well as third parties releasing games such as Die Hard Vendetta and Need for Speed 2! It's this choice that sees me having a lot more fun in the future with my purple box of tricks than I did with my Nintendo 64!

The transition from 2D into 3D seems to be starting to work as far as I am concerned now. Developers have gone past the need to makes games look good and are starting to make sure games play good too! Mind you, GBA game developers have an advantage in that a game doesn't need to look brilliant to be brilliant on the handheld.

Anyway, I'm half asleep and you probably are too now you've read this. I'm having more fun than ever before with my games, and I hope you are too!

You see, this is another reason I got a Cube, the games are all designed for fun, there arent too many of those serious simulation games around for it, I have a PS2 as well and I cant think of any games that I would want for it that I dont already have, as for the Cube, there are at least 4 games I can think about off of the top of my head that I would want.

Yep - more and more people are seeing what a worthwhile decision it is to buy a GameCube. You can stick your Gran Turismo's and your repetitive gameplay where the sun don't shine - 'cos I've got me fresh and exciting 'Cube.

[NOTE: That was a general comment to non-gamecube-owners and not to anyone in particular]

if metroid fusion is even half as good as Super metroid then we're in for a treat.

I think what Fox Star is trying to point out is that games are starting to gain that certain 'spark' that we were able to experience with games such as Super Mario Kart before 3D gaming really took off. Albeit a bit of a muddled babble, it still makes a little sense.
