Obviously I'm talking MGS2 here, if you failed to realise that then go away you'll be of no use to me. The rest of you can stay and perhaps even have a go at answering my question:

Do any of you fellow addicts have an idea of how get dogtags off of the "Special" gaurds on the tanker? I mean the guys with the nightvision goggles in the area just after were the english demo finished.

I creep up same as always, but then when I pull out my USP and hope to yell "Freeze!", instead, I get shot. It was fun for a while, but now the novelty has worn off and I'm back to wanting dogtags.

Do help, there's a shiny penny in it for you.

How exactly?

when he teaches you how to use the sword, knock him out and make sure the stars are around his head, then drags him around and drop him and his tags come out saying
*Solid Snake*

Firstly, as you enter that area equip your M9, not the USP, because the USP has a flashlight attached that lets the guards see you well in advance. With the M9 equipped, run down the first long stretch until you see the first guard approaching, then run back and dive into one of the rooms on the right and hide against the wall. The first guard will pass on his patrol, and you can hold him up.

Then run to the end of the corridor and another guard will appear wearing a walkman, you can hold him up if you jump out quickly enough before he turns around.

The third guard at the end of this first section is asleep, just walk up to him and hold him up as normal.

How exactly? And Meryl's tags are in there somewhere too aren't they?

And Tarrant, you can't get tags off those guys. Are you talking about the guys who come out of the door and one of them says to Gurlukovich on the radio, "we will defend you with our lives if necessary"? If so, you can't get them. They are already alerted to your presence so you can't make them put their hands up. The last 4 dog tags in the tanker mission are in holds 1 and 3.
