They're the official ones, no idea which one you'll need, good luck searching through them ;)

also:...

I think Turbonutter has been a good employee of Linux, hes seems to have people intrested, me thinks it's something to do with those lush screenshots he has...*drolls*

Insert boot floppy. Insert CD. Press the power button. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Reading online documentation beforehand would probably help too. We're not going to step you through the install process.

But if you have an actual tangible problem, come back and ask for help.

Personally, I hate the way Rob's debian install looks. Here're some examples of mine.. if this sways you to installing linux, great. Just remember I'm using Gnome. KDE. Ugh. Sorry :)

(is how my desktop looks right now)

(insane number of Eterms..)

Okay.. I'm a sucker for png. But hey, it's lossless.

And I also use windows (various versions, 2k and xp mainly) on occasion (.. shock horror) when I want to mess with photoshop or flash or goldwave or other such proprietary filth. (Note tongue in cheek, these are great products).

(okay, vmware's just fun)

(and so is Cygwin's Xfree86 port)

o http://lewq.2y.net/samba.png
(yeah, those drive mappings are direct to the webserver. "cool".)

That turned into a huge list. I might zip them up somewhere if anyone cares. Some of them are across two monitors (generally during holidays when I can use all the desk space.. term time requires more desk and less monitor for art coursework et cetera..).

If anyone gets this far:

http://lewq.2y.net/root.jpg (or root.png) is my current wallpaper.

Well I like it. If anyone does use it I'll feel very honoured.

Looking up at all that I can but ask "does anyone care". Probably not. Ah well.

Linux - the operating system. It makes all your components work

GNOME - graphical desktop. For someone who's used Windows all his life it may be hard to seperate between the OS and the GUI, but GNOME is what makes everything pretty.

www.redhat.com

You can buy Red Hat 7.2 for $59.95

By the way, to get it looking all nice and pretty on your desktop, you may need a real beefy PC (depending on which GUI software you use)
