For many, many years, I have wondered the plains of games (arf!) and played on many different titles, some superb, some oddly addictive, some pretty average, some pretty poor.............then the rest (ie 98% of the PS2 catalogue) :D
So, I have decided to put my life, by years, into game form......in terms of what games I thought were the best.....and so on.
1986: Playing with a squishy ball. Try it some time, you'll love it.
1987: Ditto. But this time the ball had sequins on it.
1988: Began to expand my mind. Played with a tractor for the first time (toy one of course).
1989: JOY! Got Thomas The Tank Engine and Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles stuff for the present ration that year! Along with my ever expanding load of trucks and tractors in the back garden, I began to form a conglomerate empire.....mmmwaaahhAHHAHAHA! Or not. But it was good fun.
1990: Got overly excited at playing with a van in the shed. Found my dads ancient BBC. It all went downhill from there............
1991: Oh joy! Millions of black and green games on my BBC, with a black and orange buttoned joystick! It was all good. Except for some reason half of them dissapeared.........unfortunatly, I had no sense of deletion or anything like that. I even attempted to make my own game. But it failed. It seems that Ninja Turtles don't want to start up on the blinky screen. Ah well.
1992: Much the same. But less tractors, more aeroplanes! Neeeeeeeeeooooww!
And I played a NES at a friends house. M.......a.......r.......i.....o. It was a great privelage to be allowed to play it.
1993: Ooooooo! Saw sometihng about a SNES..........whats a SNES? BBC soon conked out. Got an Acorn. Had one game. By now my hungry mind wanted more.......Blinx (seriously!) just wasn't enough............
1994: Acorn didn't sustain me. I lost interest. But my new plane planning scheme was going ahead nicely. It seemed however, that Games Workshop wasn't interested in my new ideas for a Super Mech Attack Ship VR333456. With X-Ray guns. *sigh*.........
1995: This is when it really kicked in. A PC! Later that year, Fifa 96! MY first ever game! Then a SNES. Mario Allstars! Wohoo! My fragile little mind was beggining to get tendrils of gaming stuck in it. Joy!
1996: SNES was the main choice. Although Civilisation 1 and 2 (still some of my favourites of all time) kept me on the PC a lot of the time as well.
Began to see things about the 'N64' Playstaion was also played on. Not that amazing (as you see, I had already developed critical feelings.....)
1997: Goldeneye. 'Nuff said. Along with an N64 of course.
1998: Zelda, Mario........and more. I had finaly begun to see the light of Nintendo! I had already discarded the PS as an 'also ran' (in my opinion) and was soon enjoying the many delights of the N64 and all its games. Zelda, Mario and Goldeneye. All I had. All I needed. :D
1999: My collection expanded. I was turning into a teenager now. Rock, games.....and the previously disgusting subject of........girls! ooooo!
Played more and more new PC and N64 games all year. Brillianto!
2000: Heard whipsering of a new Nintedo console. GBC also added to my collection, along with games like JFG, DK64, Perfect Dark and Body Harvest........mmmm.............bloody.........Also bought my first FHM! Oooooooooooo! I was........so........cool.
2001: Played more and more and more and more............and more.......and more...................................................New PC! More new games! Wheres the cash when you need it? Also began to get really involved in music far more.....resulting in th ever continuing stream of noise out of my bedroom..................... GCSES too. Grrrr...
2002: Got ma Cube. Mario Sunshine. And more. Played Resident Evil for the first time (properly) too. Good year.......and more to come. Rediscovered the joy of planes too. Flew in lots all year. Excellent......... Also actualy expanded my social life in various ways. That was pretty good. Went abroad several times...........good so far at least.
2003: Joy! Announcment that I am ruler of the world, can have any number of wives from any selection of women, and that Microsoft and Sony have both collapsed! Plus Metroid is released early! Could that get any better?
