But it may fail for one reason. Microsoft have been well known for creating operating systems and other utilities, but not for making games consoles. Consumers may stay away because it is a newcomer to the console industry and is not well known. People sometimes go for Sony or Nintendo consoles because of the brand name without a care for what the console is really like itself. So, in conclusion i think X-Box may fail because it is not well known in the console industry.

Well said, and my sentiments exactly
Sonic
What we want is the best games to play.
I have PSX, GBC, GBA, DC and PS2 and also play PC games. What is important to me is the quality of the games - read peoples comments before you make silly posts in future.
Why not admit you are scared of M$ making a dent in SONY's domination of the console arena? After all, that is why you would post such comments in the first place.
I certainly

PS2 was $300 in America and then it was £300 over here, same as the Xbox. Its pretty much the same for all consoles. The only difference is that the GC is $200 in America but will be about £165 over here.
The Japanese get them all cheaper with the Xbox roughly £184 over there £210 for America and £300 over here.
Where it might fail is if not enough games are produced for it and how long they keep the price so high. I certainly wont be paying three hundred quid for one and why should we paying this amount when the US only pay $300 ?
Lets also hope they have installed proper drives in the european models and not the orbital sanders that they did in Japan. That kind of publicity will lose them no end of potential current and future sales.
It can't be that bad cause the shop I pre-ordered with has well over 50 pre-orders, all coming in for midnight to pick up their X-Box.
