-=-=-CONCLUSION-=-=-
The Xbox has 135 games, the Playstation 2 has 456 and the Gamecube has 106. So the Playstation 2 has nearly 4 times the games than any other console. However, it is quality not quantity. Now really only about 10% of games released are worth getting, so really the Gamecube and Xbox probably only have around 10-15 decent games. The Playstation 2 probably has about 40 decent games. Now that is nearly 4 times what the other consoles have. But really it has had nearly 4 times more time on the market, therefore resulting in more games. Also the Playstation 2 can play the original Playstation games as well.
I think the Playstation 2 wins on this one, even though the only reason is because of having more time on the market. The Xbox then follows the Playstation 2 because it has slightly more games than the Gamecube.
So 2=Playstation 2 1=Xbox
-=-=-GRAPHICS-=-=-
Xbox:
The Xbox uses a 250MHz custom chip named XGPU, developed by Microsoft and nVIDIA. This graphics card is meant to be superior to any other and is probably one of the most modern. It can sustain over 100 000 000 polygons per second and really should perform the best.
Playstation 2:
The Playstation 2 can only boast a 150Mhz graphics chip and only 75 000 000 polygons per second. Now this means that it is only going to be able to do within 60-75% of what the Xbox can do.
Gamecube
Now the Gamecube has a 165Mhz graphics chip and can only sustain 6-12 000 000 polygons per second. Now this is a hell of a lot lower than the other two.
-=-=-CONCLUSION-=-=-
Just looking at the raw stats the Gamecube is pathetically poor. Now, there is a lot of talk about RAW an IN GAME stats. People are saying that only Nintendo have stated the IN GAME stats and Sony and Microsoft the RAW stats. Now is this is true I am sure that I would be able to identify a clear winner. But looking at the Stats the Xbox wins.
Winner Xbox! Runner Up Playstation 2!
So 2=Xbox 1=Playstation 2
-=-=-ADD ONS-=-=-
X-Box:
Now the Xbox has a DVD player and four controller ports. However, the DVD remote will co you extra money and the DVD play back quality is poor. The Xbox also boasts a link up system allowing multi player on separate screens. But of course, you will need two Xbox’s and 2 TV’s. Plus you do not need a memory card because of the hard-drive.
Playstation 2:
The Playstation 2 also has a DVD player and has USB ports. However, the DVD playback is also poor and the Playstation 2 only has two controller ports. This means that you will need to buy an adapter which costs more money.
Gamecube:
The Gamecube has four controller ports and space for internal sockets for modems and other items. However, you will still need to pay for these modems, but you will not need to buy an adapter for multi-player.
-=-=-CONCLUSION-=-=-
Are add-ons essential for a console? I mean it is a game console and not a DVD player or a Hi-fi. You are supposed to play games on it, however, for some add-ons like the DVD players you still need to purchase a remote. This means that to get your console full operational you need to actually pay a little more. So I think the real winner is the Gamecube. You do not need to buy any parts to play multiplayer and there are no parts of the console that will not work without a part (e.g. Remote).
So the Gamecube wins this round! Runner Up Xbox, because of the hard-drive and the 4 controller ports.
So 2=Gamecube 1=Xbox
-=-=-CONTROLLER-=-=-
Xbox:
The Xbox controller is by far the beefiest and largest of the lot. It has a lot of buttons though, so there is no stop to what you can do one each game you play with it. With the large amount of buttons and the inbuilt rumble feature this controller is very good to be used, however, it is on the large size and is found hard to use for the first time, and in fact for a while.
Playstation 2:
Ah, the famous Dual Shock controller. Sony has the first ever-Dual analogue controller. It has a lot of buttons and this leaves it open to a lot of things. A lot of games take advantage of this feature.
Gamecube:
The Gamecube controller has the least amount of buttons but two analogue sticks like the others. It is the most comfortable to hold and use. However, the Gamecube has one up on every one. The Wavebird. The wireless controller! Just like the normal controller but you can play it from across the room with no wire.
-=-=-CONCLUSION-=-=-
Now here the Gamecube wins hands down. The only reason for this is because you can go over anywhere you want and still play your console. You could get into bed and play. Although the Playstation 2 and Xbox have good enough controllers, Nintendo really have gone that step further.
Gamecube wins this one! Runner Up Playstation 2.
So 2=Gamecube 1=Playstation 2
-=-=-=MEMORY-=-=-=-
Xbox:
There is no need for a memory card with the X-box. This is because you have a 10Gb Hard-Drive. However, there is only one bad thing about this, that is you will not be able to take your save games around to your mates with out a normal memory card.
Playstation 2:
You will need to buy a memory card for the Playstation 2. Now this is not a bad thing in its way, this is because you can take your save games around with you. However, it will set you back £30 for an official one. That is the only bad point.
Gamecube:
You will also need to buy a memory card, but this means you can take it to a mates. However, it will set you back between £10 and £15 depending on the size you want.
-=-=-CONCLUSION-=-=-
The Xbox wins hands down here. Now this is because you do not need to fork out your hard earned cash to get a memory card. Runner up is the Gamecube, because the memory card is cheaper.
Winner Xbox! Runner up Gamecube.
So 2=Xbox 1=Gamecube
-=-=-=SIZE & DESIGN=-=-=-
Xbox:
Now the Xbox is the largest and heaviest of the consoles. It is like a black slab, however it is the best looking console colour wise.
Playstation 2:
The Playstation 2 is the second biggest. It is not big but also not too pretty. Although it can stand up on its side.
Gamecube:
The Gamecube is the smallest and lightest console but not the prettiest. However, it does come in two different colours and is very neat to tidy away.
-=-=-CONCLUSION-=-=-
The Gamecube wins here because it is the smallest and lightest. The Xbox comes in close as second because it looks good design and colour wise, not in size.
Gamecube wins, runner up Xbox!
So 2=Gamecube 1=Xbox
-=-=-=SOUND=-=-=-
Xbox:
The Xbox has great sound, I do not know the technical jargon but what I do know is what I can hear. It is great, especially on 5.1 channel!
Playstation:
Now the sound on the Playstation 2 is not so good. It is good enough, but you just cannot hear where you are being, for example, shot. Where as with great sound if you are being shot from behind, you head the shot from behind!
Gamecube:
Also with 5.1 Channel sound, however none of the games I have played give as good sound as Halo. Now I have played numerous games, such as TimeSplitters 2, but it just doesn’t perform as well as the Xbox. Although it is still better than the Playstation 2.
-=-=-CONCLUSION-=-=-
The Xbox has the best sound. It is great and you really do feel as if you are playing. The game cube does come up close behind. However, the game still needs the good sound too!
Winner Xbox, runner up Gamecube!
So 2=Xbox 1=Gamecube
-=-=-=PRICE=-=-=-
Xbox:
The Xbox launched at £300 and has now dropped to £160. Although for that you can get 2 free games. However, this is just a Christmas offer, and the massive Price drop too early might have been a bad decision. But it is now the second most expensive console!
Playstation 2:
The Playstation 2 launched at £300 just like the Xbox but that was a long time ago. The Playstation 2 hasn’t really dropped much in price at all, compared to the Xbox. The Playstation 2 is the highest priced console!
Gamecube:
The Gamecube launched at £130. This is under half of what you would have to pay for an Xbox or Playstation 2. It has not yet dropped in price and it doesn’t need to. The Gamecube is and has always been the cheapest console.
-=-=-=CONSLUSION=-=-=-
The Gamecube is the cheapest console, now this is not because it is the worst. This is because it is cheaper to make therefore cheaper to sell. The Xbox will come second because it is now the second cheapest. The Playstation 2 is last because it is still the most expensive!
Winner Gamecube, runner up Xbox!
So 2=Gamecube 1=Xbox.

GC rules whatver.
Although, GC should have come 2nd in graphical power (because of the inbuilt effects like lighting) and last in add ons (no DVD player or CD player).
But I'm glad the GC won, you just knew it had to ;)
