Now if you are like me and you are doing your GCSE's then read this, it might just help!

Now, you GCSE's are important, however, it is not the end of the world if you mess them up. Talke that in mind, becuase you really do not need to think that life is over if you do have a bad test (which I am sure you won't).

Coursework

Look, I know all of you have probably done most of your Coursework by now, but remember this. IF YOU DID IT AS BEST AS YOU CAN THEN YOU WILL DO FINE! Now Coursework is a funny old thing. It will not get you as many marks as your test but it is still marks. Now it is alot, and if you did it properly then you will also do fine in your tests. If you did do well in your Coursework then you can build up your confidence.

Now, if you didn't do too well in your Coursework then don't fret. It is not the end. The tests do give you alot more marks than your coursework, however, you will need to revise just that little bit more if you want those high grades!

Revising

Now this is really the preperation part. You have already spent one and a half years on these so do not throw that time away. Here are Parr's tip top tips for good revision.

START EARLY

Go out and buy your revision guides now! It will mean that you can start now and still get some revision in before your Mocks! Revising early will give you that precious time to cover every single topic for every single subject. Now that is good...isn't it!

DEVISE A TIMETABLE

Using your time wisely is one of the best tips I can give you. If you are like me and you play games or go out all of the time and leave no time for revision then you will have to change (I DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE EITHER..BUT I HAVE TO). So devise your self a timetable. Give about 1 hour 15 mins for revision. This will give you enough time to revise each subject before your exams. Why 1h:15m?

TIME

Well, revising really is only good for an hour if you start early. This is really not to much time that has gone from you and you will benefit from this top tip. As you study every 15 mins your efficiency levels will drop. This means after 15 mins you are liable to forget something. So take a 5 min brake between revision 15 min slots. This will take 1 hour 15 mins for a total of 60 mins revision.

HOW TO REMEMBER?

Use something to compare it to. So if you are thinking of the 7 things all living things do use this:

MRS FREG (M)move (R)redproduce (S)sense (F)food [eat] (R)rest (E) excrete (G) grow

But use something that applies to you and that you know u can remember.

Well, the English writing prelim is hard, a) to limit yourself, and b) there no decetn questions. The reading Credit was easy, but the reading General was fairly hard.

Slightly mixed up, but the truth no less...

I'll get all As and Bs in the mocks. Good enough.

I've got my prelims coming up in two weeks and I haven't revised yet, it's so boring! I can't stand revision, I'll fail!
Do you think being one of the top students in all but one class (French but ho cares) will make it any easier for me if I don't revise?

Come college and University, all this advice will be second nature. However, I find most people by this age forget about all that mnemonic malarkey like Mrs Gren or whatever.

Useful, if obvious. I've got my mocks starting Thursday next week. I've done the tiniest of revions, but to be honest I can't be bothered. It's only the mocks, after all...
