Imagine you’re playing Mario 64. You’ve just finished a Bowser stage, the second one to be exact (Lava sets the scene). You dive down the green tube placed just in front of you. You meet Bowser, just as always, and start to avoid his attacks. After a few attacks he starts to charge at you. You crouch down, getting ready to back flip over him. But while he’s running at you he suddenly breathes fire at you, sending you flying into the lava pit below.

You shake hands with your mate and admit defeat. He’s beaten you. You may have been Italian and a plumber, but he was a giant mutated lizard named Bowser, so who’s going to argue?

At this point you’re probably sitting in your chair, looking at the screen like a confused squirrel, so let me explain. My game idea, is basically a multi-player platform game. That was just an example, but I’ve actually got a game all planned out. Now you can laugh all you want but I think this would revolutionise gaming.

Now my idea is quite simple. There are a set of huge levels, whether it may be I the eerie depths of a volcano or in huge river with treacherous currents trying to wash you off course. But the level doesn’t really matter at the moment.

There can be up to four players, all starting at each corner of the level. Each character having different abilities. Each of these characters have a colour of crystal, which will also be the colour of their clothing. Each of the characters have to find each others crystals. Each set of crystals of one colour set a course to a huge stone (To give it a mystical flavour), which gives you a special power. Five crystals have to be collected to activate one of these stones. The powers you get are used to defeat the character of that colour. After you have collected a stone you must find your enemy and you must fight beat-‘em-up style. After you get your meter full you can use the power you got from the stone, also if you beat your opponent you take their crystals.

The aim of the game is to defeat each player. This kind of a game would mix beat-‘em-up, platform and multiplayer game, personally I think this would be great. Especially if internet multiplayer gaming came out of it as well.

An even bigger island with about ten other players who you’ve never seen before in your life. Internet gaming would make this kind of game great.

Hope you enjoyed and thanks for reading.

Yeah, that's a pretty good idea.
But maybe you could also have an option where you play co-operative with your mate like in Perfect Dark.

One could be Mario and the other Luigi, and it'd mean Bowser would be dead in virtually seconds. And if one player dies, than he remains out of the game untill the other player also dies.

I also think we should be able to see how a character recovers from loosing a life - like Conker when all his lives run out.

And I think that you're idea would be good, and it's something that should've been considered for games like Banjo Kazzoie and Jak and Daxter - but there's still hope for the future....

I think that you can play in the same levels in some games, like in the Sonic MegaDrive games with the Sonic & Knuckles cartridge. But that's for time-attack only.

Well, that was more of a game idea rather than anything else, but it was still quite a good and descriptive post.
