With this in mind i wonder how long it will be before the press backlash begins.
Give time for the positive press to die down after the official release of the Xbox/gamecube and then i think it will begin.
I am just worried that at some time in the future we will see a headline along the lines of 'gaming stunts Britains youth' you know the sort of indepth journalism that will accuse anyone that enjoys a bit of console recreation of being 'lazy' and 'unfit'.
Now i am aware that i may be being a bit scepticle about this but it just seems that the media (whether it be T.V. or newspapers) find gaming as a relitively easy target.
Just because it is a passtime that is relativey passive (in a physical sense) it seem that it is easily labeled as a comparative waste of time.
Now I like gaming as much as the next person and i am not disputing the highly addictive nature of it. But i like to think that i manage to balance being in front of a computer or console with a fairly active social life. I even have a girlfriend. *gasp*
Now I really am looking forward to being wrong on this subject and the press may well find something far more important to pick on but its just a sneaking suspition that i have.
Watch this space.
