ok, i've got a few of questions for your brains, I really hope you can help me out...(again)
ok, first problem:
my 'website' *cough* http://www.geocities.com/enterthefog well you can probably see the hideous purple border around the images on the index...why??? I can't see anything in the source that would be causing this to happen, everything else is 'fine' as fine goes.
2nd problem:
this isn't so much a problem, it's just a fault with my brain.
it's to do with Flash5 (MX out in 4 days!!!!) anyway, how do I make buttons with motion? I can only make up/over/down/hit(whatever) but they're only single images, I think it would be cool to have some funky looking all singing all dancing flash buttons, doted around the pag.
3rd problem:
Photoshop, I love this program, I really do, it can fool the eye many times over, it's amazing with fireworks, importing exporting yadda yadda....
anyway, my so called problem is, i've seen loads of cool images with lines going through them, it's kinda hard to explain, i'm sure someone (at least one person) must be slightly insane and know what I mean.
it's just a simple effect, no idea how i'd be able to do it normally, i've checked most of the effects already, downloaded a few more, but nothing seems to get it right, I'm thinking it might only work in PS6, if it does, it's a stupid program. :p
thanks in advance for ANY help.

you like to be patronising, anyway, I tried this ages ago, pretty much one of the first things I tried, infact I think the one on that page is done that way, I still got lines, I don't want that.
anyway, the idea I have of the navigations fading into the logo looks better, tis all done now, ta.
Just got to find a host now....

i'm not making the page 900 wide, it's longer including the logo, but.....
whats supposed to happen is, if you view it on a wider screen than 800x600 like the site will be made for, e.g. 1024x768 the navigation bars will 'stretch' to the end of the page still.
I've done what you said, but I didn't make both tables 900 (insane) :) I just kept them at width/height="100%" so i'll get the desired effect, thanks for your help :)

Why the hell are you making a page 900 wide? You've just killed the market share of your visitors!!

It also consisted of 244 words. And any piece of writing that has 244 words and 5 full stops, is badly wrote.
As if it really matters but, there were 5 full stops there, very nice to know that the post also included the appearance of 32 Commas, which is a real treat! thanks for your help.
Do you know what a full stop is? It's one of those things you put at the end of a sentence and tells the person reading it, that you've ended a sentence. They really are amazing things and should be used more often.
Anyways, as for your post - I ain't a clue.
Anyways, as for your post - I ain't a clue.
It's not my fault I have so many problems with image programs, it's my PC, honest.
anyway, i've just made this weird camoflauge image in Photoshop (I love this program) it makes really useless but effective images *looks at ceiling with a twinkle in his eye* anyways, my problemo today is, I can't make the images fit properly, i'm using this camoflauge image for the top and side navigation bars, everything seems ok with them, except for the corner....hhmm, it's kinda like SR's setup,
http://www.geocities.com/enterthefog/sgs.htm
(that screen looks really minging on a screen with less than 1024x768...whatever, it even looks crap on higher screens, it's been changed since) *sigh* anyway, as you can see, it looks pap, and when I say it's based on SR's layout, I mean that loosly, no where near as good.....
*slaps himself* [*thinks* - "get to the poiint you fool!!!]
so, my conslusion was, no to have a camoflauge corner, instead fade the camoflauge side and top towards the corner (fade from camo to transparent) this isn't impossible with Photoshop, i've been playing around, everything seems like it should work, but it isn't, theres usually a button that says "pres me you imbecile" after I finish a post like this, which makes the effetc instantly for me, but i've been working on this for sometime, and nothings happening, zilch, I even tried smudging the bar to get the same effect, but it looks eeewy.
so, please, if any of you can be bothered with my inane requests, i'd be thankful for your gracious help.

ok, another really simple one, i've got a couple of navigation bars I want to use for a site, thing is, I need:
A) for them to be in the background so I can hyperlinks and text over them in the same table without adding layers *shudders* I don't know how to add them to the table, is it something like:
B) I don't want them to repeat, the images are about
(top)900x100
(bottom)150x900
and the way it's configured at the moment is, both images stretch the page out so you have to scroll sideways, downwards is fine.
anyway, I did this so if people with larger screens visit the site, they don't see a smaller bar, it stretches to the end of the page, just makes it look a little more organised.
thanks.

no, wasn't talking bout MX *sigh* only 3? more days....
wouldn't have though it would need actionscripting, ok...
you know that church website someone posted a few weeks ago, well he had motioned buttons, I doubt he made them through actionscripting, then again, it sounds like it would work, although....it will tke a long time to make every single frame on the rollover into a button as a movie clip wouldn't send the user to the location, they'd hv to wait for the 'movie' to stop.
