Wow this game is good, it came out a couple of weeks ago. Has anyone else got it? Incase you don't know what GTA4 is, then I'll tell you. In GTA4, you play a man called Tommy Vercetti who has been released from prison and was sent to a place called Vice City. Vice City is your typical Miami looking area in the 80's. Tommy is sent there by his boss Sonny Forelli on vacation and to do some drug deals for him.
Upon arrival when Tommy and some men do a deal with the Columbians, the Columbians turn on your character and shoot down his friends. Then throughout the game, Tommy is trying to get back some money from the gang that tried to kill him but instead you end up taking over most of Vice City.
This game is amazing. It is the sequel to GTA3 but I think they made some kind of mistake because if it's GTA4, do they go back in time or something? Anyway, like the previous, this game is really violent and you have complete freedom as to what you do whether it's just cruise around on your motorbike or go round Vice City killing everyone. You can even pick up prostitues and have sex with them... hee hee.
Apart from complete freedom to do whatever you want, you are supposed to do missions for people that you meet in Vice City. Apart from Tommy being the main character, another is a coloured man called Lance who's brother was killed in the beginning drug deal. Lance helps you out throughout the game in some missions. For example, in one mission he flies a helicopter and you have to shoot the guards that are guarding a building.
This game is really hard to complete. I don't even think anyone in the whole world has got the game to 100% yet. Thats how hard it is. Not only are there missions but there are also sub mini missions like steal a police car, and you can do vigilante missions where you have to track down criminals and kill them for cash. Or there's firemen missions where you drive a fire truck and use your water cannon to put out fires.
You can also buy property and act like a real gangster collecting protection money. Some properties include an ice cream factory, a night club, a porn making film studio and a strip club. Unfortunately, you don't get to see them stripping ( damn, snort snort sniff). Buying property unlocks more missions and also allows the % complete to go up. A mission example from the ice cream factory is you have to get an ice cream van and go and collect or distribute drugs.
The graphics are really good and you play in real time so it switches between night and day which is really cool. At night most of the prostitues come out. The effects on the water are also very good and the amout of detail put into the game is also nice. If you look in the water, you can occaisionally see fish, jelly fish and big huge sharks ( scary ).
The character artificial intelligence is very good aswell. The enemies are really smart and will chase after you or take their car back if you steal it from them. The gang members will protect their friends and start shooting at you if you shoot them. The police artificial intelligence has also been improved as now they come down from helicopters to get you and they also set up tyre popper things.
There are over40 different types of weapons from mere screwdrivers to m60's to rocket launchers. They use a clever system where you can only carry one of each type of weapon. You can also get a chainsaw which flicks blood up onto the screen.
The sound track to this game is also much larger than the previous and boasts a massive 9 hours of quality music as they have the licenses. Expect some Michale Jackson and The whispers... perhaps some Kool and the Gang.
Theres lots of cars to steal and also in this one you can fly helicopters and a plane.
In conclusion, this is the best game in the world I think and if you don't have GTA4, I suggest you go out and buy it today. GO GTA4.
