You may have guessed from the title that this post will be about the difference between modern gaming and past gaming. This is quite similar to my other post - Hype - games are spoiled.

Let's take an average modern game. First of all, the framerate may be a bit choppy at some points. A few gamers would have already dismissed the game as a crappy waste of a CD. Overall though, it is still a very good purchase to spend your precious dosh on. Next, let's tweak the graphics so they're not quite smooth in some places. Once again, we have the same type of gamers abandoning it. Last of all, err... I know! Let's make it very slightly less realistic than our world ( the one we live in) and for the third time people are refusing to buy it because it's less than perfect.

Now look back to the past, say ten years or so. Games are awful in comparison to our modern games. People will buy anything though. Some crappy games were what would have been amazing then. The game we were just talking about ( in the second paragraph) would have been elected the best game in the whole of existence.

It just goes to show that the famous phrase is true ( ' don't take things for granted')

Thanks for reading
