So what's my point? Well, maybe the Japanses have got it right this time. In the current charts, quality Dreamcast games over rate PS2 sequals. In addition, Japanese gamers seem to be most interested in the Gamecube as the best format. Rather than go with "brand-loyalty" or "Sony are best because of the Playstation", people in Japan realise that games make a console, not manufacturers. You see, the Japanese have longer memories than ours, and can remember when Nintendo had the NES and SNES, releasing such greats as Legend of Zelda, and Mario. The fact that the N64 was pretty poor in comparison means nothing to them- every company makes mistakes some time, and Nintendo are just starteding to recover from theirs.
So come on people. Don't buy a PS2 just because the Playstation was great. Look at the games now. What makes real Otakus are people who don't judge a console on the company who make it, but rather on the games that make the console.

I agree, the Japanese market is slowly coming around to the fundamentals of good ol' rock solid gameplay.
Capcom Vs SNK on the Dreamcast went straight in at Number 1 when it was released a few weeks ago. Now, that game is fun!
