is it me or r games losing there longitivty value, remember when you would buy a game and be playing it every night for 6 months....... not any more, yes there r excellent games like grand theft auto 3 and gran turismo 3 naming a few but they get repetitive and within a month u r forking out another £35 for another 1 minute wonder (*COUGH* state of emergency) which then one day u sit down and think have a really spent over £1000 on this stuff realising youve also got behind on all the stuff you have got to because you decide to play that "just one more go". to finish off my point im just saying that at one time for £5 i could by sega mega drive game that lasts for months and now we pay £35 pound for a flashy adveridge game, which soon gets shoved to the bottom of the pile. i am also pleased to finaly see sony have realsed a platinum range for ps2, as this is one step towards a more balenced value for money.

The main reason games seem to be getting shorter is because of the Save function, before if you got killed you would have to start the whole game again. Also game styles have changed the main idea of older games was to beat your best score but nowadays they're more story driven.

i don't really think games are getting shorter but the fact that we are getting better at them and spending more time on them, i remember back in the old days when playing a game i would just spend a few miniutes playing a game before skiping off to do something else, but games now a days just suck you in, and you end up spending large amounts of time if not hours, and back in the old days i don't think there was anything like memory cards so if you wanted to complete a game you had to be real good at it and complete it in one go.
