SSB Melee is probably the one game GameCube is renowned for. It has amazing graphics, and the first game was simply great so the next game should come out straight away, after all, it is REALLY popular.

What solskjaer said is true, but you have to remember the price of these games. They are quite expensive, and so you will be looking to get the best games, not waiting for them to come out. And who says that most games can be completed in a month or so. Think of games such as Majoras Mask and Banjo Tooie. They require a great deal more of playing than a month to be completed.
Apart from this though, i agree that while you are at home playing on your GameCube, you can look forward to great games (SSB Melee and many more).

I agree that it actually is better to have gaps between releases of different games.

Like you said, you can enjoy your launch titles for a month or so, and then get something new when you're ready and finnished. It's much better this way as you're ready for the games, and it's better than buying a load at once and trying to rush through them all in one go, before the next lot.

personally , i like games to have gaps between them , that way like sinfeld said , you can play your launch titles , and keep your mates in antisipation juts waiting to play it ;-)

I agree that it a huge game, but you have to take into account the number of months Nintendo have delayed the GameCube for. Surely after this much time top games such as SSBM will come out on release.

I also think that's it's being launched later because of it's size, and the NTSC - PAL conversion.
Have you seen magazine previews for the game?? It's absolutely huge, with many different levels and modes to play in, and a wide variety of characters and moves and techniques to play with!!

It's should be MASSIVE as a multiplayer, and it'll be well worth the wait!
I also agree that the anticipation and hype has something to do with the hype.

I think what Nintendo are trying to do is release 'hyped' titles frequently.

We've got melee 3 weeks after the launch, then pikmin on the 14th June, then we'll probably see Star Fox, Biohazard, Mario Sunshine...the list goes on!

In between these dates we'll see lots of other ports such as Agent under fire, sega smash soccer...

Nintendo have really got at least 1 cube game being released each week!

I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!!

This is the reason why nintendo are doing this, keep the interest and the quality of games spread out. anyway, it's only 3 weeks, it will give you enough time to have a good crack at your launch titles!

It is a tad odd, but the reason that they are releasing it on a different date to the release date is to keep the hype the G-cube up. That's just my humble opinion. I reckon the real reason is that they are adding exclusives for the pal version.
