I read it it said stuff like you are in total control you can attack people backstage well thats aload of cr*p because i bought JBI and all you could do is walk around backsatage.
It also said theres loads of things you can do in storymode thats wrong you can challenge or be challenged theres like two more things you can do.Its there job to try and make you buy the game but its not there job to lie about the game.
but their reading demographic is people who are really into games- so much so that they'll already know what games they want. All Edge do is to review the "interesting" game- big titles, original games and very poor obscure games.
The emphasis is on the specials and columns :)

I'm too intellectually challenged to read it....
Nah, I don't like them much because I don't feell they review enough games, and I've only ever seen one shop I could get to easily selling EDGE, which is another reason I don't get it.
What I don't get is despite PS2 and Ninty mags going on about how close they are to the companies, Edge actually has columns written by heads of Seg departments, and interviews every week with a different big developer. They even had Kojima-san write his own column once. You won's see that in any PS2 mag!

Take the example of SCEE's F1 game. The previews said that there was an anytime save feature, and it even said it on the game box, but when the game was released it was not there. OPSM2 quizzed them on it, and they said that it had to be pulled as they could not manage it for the release date.
Take previews for what they are, previews, and for the rel opinion, read the review or rent it and judge for yourself.
It covers what's EXPECTED to be in the game, when the game is finished. You don't say what's wrong with a game in a preview, as that's left for the review.
In a preview, if you slate a game, the developers will get on your case and say stuff like "But it's not finished yet, we'll change that before release" or whatever.
At the end of the day, a preview is only about what the developers want to be in the game, what actually makes it into the final game is, as you know, often quite different.
