It was a cold monday morning, i was woken from the repetetive ringing of my alarm clock. Slowly i stumbled out of bed to turn it off. Then i headed downstairs to grab some breakfast hopefully to wake me up fully. When i got downstairs i took a glimpse at the kitchen calender and i noticed the word "inset" first of all i ignored it, but then i realised what i saw, took a second look and it was an inset day for my college (i had wrote it down before and just forgot all about it). Anyway, as now i was to awake to go back to sleep, i decided to phoned my friend to see if she would accompany me to town she agreed so i left for her house.
*the next bit of the story i will not discuss for reasons*
So when me an my "friend" arrived in town i thought we could take a trip to the local dixons to try out the Xbox. And well don't they make it stand out (not that they need to the console is a stand within itself) I walked up to the Xbox, thinking "damn this is one big console". As soon as i gripped the pad i heard the voice of my "friend" calling my name, so naturally i looked. As soon as i turned my head to face her i IT, the little purple console known as the Gamecube. Instantly i let go of the uncomfortable controller, to the inviting purple one.
I looked at the the Pad then the console, and my first impression was how small it is, i couldn't believe it, it is tiny, but this made me remember this saying i once heard from a wise man "all good things come in small packages", i never believed it before mind, but now i do. After all the drooling was done i decided to look at the T.V. Monitor i noticed that Luigi's mansion was on it so i thought i'd give it a gander. I played it for a good 10 - 20 mins before i was kicked off but in that time i decided that it was the GC over the Xbox anyday.
Luigi's Mansion is a great game, i noticed that graphically it was amazing, actually more than amazing, if there is anything better than that. First off i i started in training (you know, to learn the basics etc) Then my adventure began. As soon as Luigi entered the masion he was greeted by toad who was looking for marion. I listened to what he had to say the went up the stairs and into a room. Sadly that was all i got to nut that was all i needed to convince me.
Anyway lets talk about the Gamecube. Well first of all it is very, very small in comparison to the Xbox, looks alot nicer too. But we all know that. So the Controller, very, very comfortable and again better than the Xbox's. It is just so comfortable, all the buttons and other parts are conveniently placed (whereas the Xbox's controller is uncomfortable and poorly laid out) to suit anyoneone, whether they have big or small hands. The buttons are nice and soft to.
I can see who cares about gamers of today and who doesn't now, and clearly Nintendo must love us.
