Ive been playing for about 8 years now. Never took lessons, tought myself.
I am at the stage now where I could learn all the scales off by heart,work on my fingering (ahem) and go the way of the likes of Steve Vai (fretw**king).
or (and i think this is a more viable option) i could crank that baby up to eleven and just make needless noise.
Having said that i love playing the blues so go figure.
Which way should i go?

Played classical for a few years, finally inspired by a mate and several good guitarists to give up my tedious lessons and give an electric a try. Played his, love it, getting my own as soon as I can get the money together.
I'm just a beginner me.
Oh and I don't secretly like the country songs I'm learning my way through.
