EA have had a bad run of luck lately first off after buying the Lord of the Rings license they sadly forgot to add the word ‘books’ into the sentence and so was unlucky enough to have unwanted competition by Sierra. Now it has happened again, in an attempt to cash in on Celebrity Big Brother EA bought the Big Brother license. It was announced in a massive fan fare and popular Big Brother stars from the past are returning for the show, Jade Goody from Big Brother 3 will be in the game. She claimed, “I don’t mind being in a game as long as I don’t look minging” (I can’t think of one graphic designer who could do that?). But EA’s happiness was cut short as several spin off Big Brother games was announced, Channel 4 decided to really squeeze the license for all its worth.
Terrorism Big Brother

George Bush, Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, the resurrected corpse of Adolf Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin are stuck in the big brother house together. They can each bring in one personal item. They all brought a weapon in one form or another bar George Bush who brought his favourite sesame street video. Many tasks involve mass destruction including ordering your army to invade an oppositions country by signalling to them some how. A mini game Grand Theft Big Brother is also involved in the game where you must steal as many items as possible without Big Brother noticing.
WWE Big Brother

The WWE superstars are locked in the Big Brother house together and to win you must be the most brutal and most sadistic one of them all. The game is simple, at the end of each day a royal rumble takes place. If you win the day’s task then you won’t be involved in the rumble. The first one out is out of the Big Brother house and the winner is excluded from the Royal Rumble the next day. By making friends throughout the day the more allies you gain and so when it comes to the rumble more people may assist you as opposed to fight you (although they will have to eventually). The best version is set for the PS2 whereas crap wannabe versions will appear on the rival consoles because THQ thought that would be funny.
Big Brother Pro Skater

Tony Hawks and the rest of the skating crew have been placed in the Big Brother house. You must spend the day (that lasts approximately 30 minutes) doing tricks and impressing the voters and if you fall a minimal amount of time and do some impressive tricks then you’ll stay in the house, but be warned it gets harder as the game progresses. Can you last the full game?
Resident Big Brother

When Capcom announced they were making a new game we were on the edge of out seats, what could it be? And what a surprise! The game turned out to be a horror game! You are in this specialist house called the Big Brother Mansion. Housemates include Jill Valentine, Claire Redfield, Leon S. Kennedy, Albert Wesker, William Birkin, Barry Burton, Brad Vickers, Rebecca Chambers and Jade Goody. You must survive the full 60 days with low ammo, low food and the oncoming threat of Zombie dogs, Zombies and other hideous BOW’s (such as Jade) that appear as more of the mansion is unlocked day by day. Instead of Chickens you must look after Zombie crows... just be careful.
Big Bowser (In Japan it is called Super Big Brothers)

Developed by Hal, Bowser has locked up Mario and friends (as well as enemies) inside the Big Brother house. Bowser’s sadistic ways are in full effect as he attempts to destroy the mushroom kingdom residents (including his minions) but has to be subtle and do it in around 60 days. You must get on with the housemates whilst completing tasks such as Tennis, Golf and Karting in the Big Brother garden. Each character has their own attributes and item. Mario is an all rounder and has a cape whilst Yoshi is very fast and has an egg, which he must look after. The game is full of potential and is scheduled for a December release in Japan, February release in America and sometime early 2010 in Europe.
So can EA beat this competition? We’ll just have to wait and see.
