I am at present going to be building a new system and am thinking of a Soundblaster Audigy. I would like to link my PS2 to the card to give Dolby surround sound. Does anyone know if it is possible on this or any other cards?
You really should read his post Darwock - he is getting a Soundblaster Audigy - which amazingly has
SC - SOUND BLASTER AUDIGY **2** PLAYER PCI SOUND CARD FOR PC (CREATIVE LABS). Sound Blaster sound card for PC, 2 or 4 Speaker support, 6.1 speaker support, Dolby digital 6.1 decoding, Line-out 1, line-out 2, line- out 3, mic-in, auxiliary in, SPDIF in, Joystick/Midi port CD audio In, digital CD In, telephone answer phone in and SB1394 sockets, Front speaker out, rear speaker out, PCI bus connection, etc etc.
So that card will support surround sound.
And yes it is simple enough to connect to a pc sound card as Darwock stated.

Hmmm, I'm not up on soundcards but you realise it'll need at least five speaker outputs to provide surround sound, unless you have an external decoder? I've never seen a sound card like that.
I quite often hook my PS2 up to my soundcard to record sounds from it, so it's easily done if you have the right cables and enough sockets.
