i would like to take my playstation 1 on holiday to the usa but i am not sure if it will work.

u can with a portable plug (u plug in the ps2 into the plug and that plugs into the socket).... i use that for one of my tvs.... :)
The Playstation would work with your current games, but the power supplies are different. You wouldn't be able to plug it in.
I think you have to get it chipped, i don't know though
