I have set up a paypal account and created buttons to upload to a given page on my web page but when i try to upload I just get the code. Help!

Unfortunately you haven't said what type of website you have - I'm going to take a guess and assume it's a Freeola InstantPro site...?

It sounds like you are pasting the button code incorrectly - here's Freeola's InstantPro PayPal guide that should help you.
