Goto xbox.com and set up an account with them if you haven't already (just a free thing where you add yourself to the mailing list and stuff).
Select United Kingdom as your country otherwise you'll be on the U.S site. Now click on the X-Box Live option at the top of the screen and you'll be taken to the appropriate area.
Scroll to the right and you should see an icon which contains the words "buy now".
Make sure you have access to a credit card and your away - its a simple case of doing whats asked and ordering. :-)

Kinda interesting, it's an intereview with some US MS guy about Xbox Live and where it's going to go in the future, and a few of the issues surrounding it so far. Quite surprised to see that one of the things effecting performance has been people using routers...especially after numerous sites have lambasted USB Modem / ICS users for this. Apparently MS are setting up a list of recommended routers to help this.
1 hour 40 mins to go, hopefully....really hjope they chagne it over at midnight :(

Good game though - I just wish there were a bit more strategy involved like in the mechwarrior games on PC. Afterall, the tactics of taking out certain body parts and exploiting different mech's weaknesses would have made a nice change as we're no doubt gonna see more than enough straight shooters on X-Box Live.
