My spies on the inside tell me that £5K will get you the rights to the one of the oldest MMPORPGs on the net, it's hostname, forums and 6K strong community, who may pay up to a tenner each to play the game if you tart it up a bit. It was once 180K people (although perhaps 3/4 of those were bots/clueless) to give you some idea of the potential of the format, although that was back when it was free.
Who's up for a joint bid - I have £12.60 in my wallet, any advances on this?
Wouldn't it just be simpler to code your own game?
Is Spinner included in the selling price?
Rhetorical Questions:
Surely MMORPG isn't the correct description?
Wouldn't Massively Multiplayer Online Bot-ridden ScriptKiddie Playground be more accurate?
Questions I Wouldn't Mind Being Answered:
What if...Sony Online bought it?
> not bad...
> £5000 and a load of your time..
Yeh, heh.
What I forgot to mention was the £5000-odd on servers and £1000 a month connection you'll have to shell out for before you can get the thing online. Not to mention at least one full-time staff, although the community is able supported by volunteers who don't get to win games every day :O)
£5000 and a load of your time..
