Is it obvious that it has been dropped?

Is it still under warranty?

If your answers are 'no' and 'yes' in that order, phone Sony and they might replace it free of charge.

Otherwise, you need to buy a new one. I wouldn't recommend trying to fix it yourself, because if you get it wrong, you could fry your PS2.

Ah, sorry - just seen that you said it 'opened up'.

You need to buy a new one, I'm afraid.

And be more careful next time! :-)

On GTA VC when I have Dual Shock on it keeps changing radio stations without my say so. Not sure if this is a controller, or game problem. Something is rattleing around inside though.

Sounds like a controller problem - not a game problem as far as I know. It's certainly never happened on mine.

Hmmm, I remembered it happened on State of Emergency aswell. Maybe when the controller rumbles it shakes the button so much that it registers as a press, therefore meaning the button is loose?
