But is it going to change with the introduction of Online console gaming?! PCs are widely used for the more complicated (and I use that word cautiously, not meaning to offend anyone) shoot-em-up and FPS games, but with the new-age of online consoles, the market will begin to see more and more RPGs and such games taking a larger role in the community.
Games like Phantasy Star Online, and Final Fantasy XI, huge sprawling worlds of story and adventure, treasure hunting and the like... is it any match for the hardened war veterans of games like Unreal Tournament, Half Life and Delta Force, etc. who may look down on the fragile Elves and Wizards of the fantasy community.
Will we see a merging of the two genres, or will an all out war be waged between companies trying to outdo each other...
What side would you be on? Or would you just like to stand and watch the action, laughing at the fools who try to meddle with the dark forces and chortling at those who drink Horlicks from the carved hoof of a Horse of the Apocalypse.
'Mon the horses, I say... Bring it On!!!!
