At the weekend I was reading the latets Kerrang! magazine, and I found something interesting that caught my attention.
It was about the band we all love to hate, Slipknot, and 2 people had written in with evidence to back up how Slipknot are NOT original!! Well maybe for their music?
Anyway, here's the first letter:
Titled: 'Clowining Around'
"WHY IS Shawn 'The Clown' Crahan such a hypocrite? In the K! 889 news you had him slagging off a small band who are relatively known in this country, called Mushroomhead. In this article he says that Mushroomhead are "a washed-out version of something close to us". Well he obviously hasn't been doin' his homework. Mushroomhead formed in 1993 (six years before Sliplnot released their debut album) and started off with red jump-suits and masks. The basist wore a pig mask, the sampler wore a bondage mask and one of the guitarists wore a gas mask. Sound familliar?
Remember that Mushroomhead formed in 1993. If you put all this information together then you'll come to the conclusion that Slipknot are nothing but Mushroomhead rip-offs.
I am a fan of both Mushroomhead and Slipknot but I really wish that Clown would stop being such an up himself @r$e and wake up and realise that his band aren't original."

I also love that insult on him at the end!!
Here's the second letter:
"In K! 889 I found a whole section where Slipknot's Clown Shawn was slagging off a band called Mushroomhead. I was disgusted by his arrogence and his claim that they were "embarrasing". Since when did he get the right to sl@g off other bands that aren't as succesfull as Slipknot. Just because they wear masks doesn't mean they were trying to copy them.
At the end of the day they are just 2 bands making music and trying to make a living out of it. If everybody just got on with it, life would be a lot easier! And is Slipknot think Mushroomhead look like muppets they should take a look in the mirror!"
Another great letter! Maybe there wasn't as much info. as in the first one, but it still makes a good point!
There were also 2 photos by the letters that showed just how identical the 2 bands are! AMAZING!!
Slipknot think they're original, and blame other bands for trying to be like them, even if the other band started several years before them. I would have personally said that Slipknot got their 'original' mask idea from 'The Misfits', and that goes even further back before their time!
Clown's are meant to be funny, and this one just makes of fool of himself and his band! Thats' funny.

Women metal singers really don't do it for me. They are happy to sing a nice chorus, but then they get inhabitted by some evil spirit half way through and start singing like the girl from the excorcist.

Have you heard that song by some girl. Its a remake of Crazy by Britany Spears. Its a different tune, and after a bit you start to think this doesnt sound so bad. Then she goes all Slipknot and it sounds so, so bad. After a while it just gets funny, its really messed up.
