This is a site primarily aimed at giving me some experience in frames.
Also, I have done a simple javascript (I think thats what it is!) for mouseovers on the links (left frame)
However, it takes a long time for the image to actually swap.
I've been told I need a preoload script to load the changeover graphics.
does anyone know where I can find one/tell me one?

Stop it! Put that frameset code down, take your hands off the keyboard and step back.
Frames are the bane of mankind, they will eventually be dropped from the HTML standard, but until then, I ask you to name your favourite websites, now, how many of those sites use frames? I rest my case, dammit.
As for your rollovers, I side with Turbonutter, maybe your images are just too big for an "instant" transition to happen, and even pre-loading the images just means that the rest of the page takes longer to load.
In the olden days, we used to "preload" the images by placing them on the page (say, at the bottom), but making them 1 pixel high and 1 pixel wide, that way, you don't need any Javascript to preload them, they are just downloaded anyway, so you never get any javascript errors, but you still get the images pre-loaded, and ready for the rollover. Neat trick eh?
I've seen other sites, that I know use javascript, that work properly first time
Does anyone know how I can achieve this?
I've done it wrong haven't I? :S
Should do it...
