Anyone have a preference!
Set all my page widths to 783px and validated every page, but after all the time spent validating is it really worth it. I've browsed 100s sites and I would say that well over half will show errors or is this acceptable.
As for charset, long topic. But for a short answer, lets say ISO-8859-1 is the safest.
I'm no validation nazi but within reason I'll try to make sure things validate. After all validation gives some assurance in terms of search engines reading your site correctly.
