When i joined Sr i was sent a joytech 4mb Memory card, which i thought was good as i was running out of space on my official one. So i saved about 5 games on there. Two of which were super monkey ball and sonic a2b. I unlocked all levels in sonic, with 132 emblyms and all mini-games, and all continous, in super monkey ball.
Well this morning i went to play monkey ball, but the damn card had deleted my data. Then i went on Sonic and it had deleted that too!
So i quickly found a third card (that came free with Pikmin) and saved all my other files on to that (That one isn't official either), to save them from corruption. I know i'm not the only one having problems with joytechs cards, so i think i'll go complain.
DAMN JOYTECH!
I recently purchased a Logic3 gamecube 8mb memory card and within 3 weeks of use it acquired data corruption.
I did not at any time remove or touch the memory card whilst playing or saving files, the card developed the problem on its own.
I returned the memory card to the store that i bought it from and got a replacement, however my question is...
What could have caused data corruption when the card was not mis-used in any way and is this a common occurance?
Thankyou.... Paul.
The reply...
Hello,
I am sorry to hear about the problem you have had with the memory card. To be honest I do not have a different answer for you, but a best guess would be either a wiring fault with caused a serge to the memory chip, or a faulty memory chip was used. I would like to say that everything we ship from our offices is 100% perfect, but alas we can not check everything - but normally our return rate for faults is less then 1 % - in the case of these cards, this is the first problem I have heard about them.
I hope the new card will go on working for many years.
Hmm a wiring fault? :s
And ive got a funny feeling that my 'new card will go on working for many years' cos i bought an Official one :D
The memory card that I got free has been working fine but its not Joytech, it's made by Interac.
