Since the festive season is upon us now as we head into the December month, I think gaming could become a little more festive. Christmas is a time for giving but also taking and I think for a special Christmas treat, developers should give us a chance to experience a Christmas game. It doesn’t have to be totally original, it could use some of existing game characters, and it would be up to them.

We have already seen Christmas decorations in games like Ready 2 Rumble where when you play the game on the 25th December then the crowd has tinsel on them and there are Christmas trees around which is a nice little touch and gives the game an extra special little something.

A nice idea would be if there was a Christmas game involving Santa with characters from Nintendo e.g. Mario, Donkey Kong, Starfox, and characters from Sony and Xbox e.g. Jax &Daxter, Rayman, etc and you would control all of them to try and rescue Santa so Christmas could continue. I think that this would be a good idea because it involves you playing all characters, plus playing a good adventure game.

Or you could have a Luigi Mansion style game where Mario has been kidnapped and is being held by Santa in his Grotto. Then Luigi would have to fight elves instead of ghosts and rescue Mario. That would be great fun.

So overall, I think that games should have a festive feeling to them especially since it’s that time of the year. Have you got any ideas about festive games?

A festive game would be good in the run up to xmas, but useless about 300 days of the year, you wouldnt play it in the summer would you?

Also xmas gets less exciting every year once you've been told santa isnt real.
