Is there an irc channel/network to support this network? If not, WHY NOT?

Anyone who says "DALnet" will be put in a washing machine full of broken glass.

I've kinda only just got into IRC, took me a long time, but I like using it now.

Ideally, it would be a SR backed endeavour. Swag a low end max PC (or whatever they've got lying around the office), install redhat on it and an ircd, and voila you have irc.specialreserve.net.

No, there isn't an IRC channel that the forum users congregate in. Want to start one up? At the moment they just get into little gangs of 5 on MSN to gossip.

You can be channel owner, give all the Notables ops, and we can all have a great time playing 'Guess who the Notables are going to kick from the channel next...'.

I can't see it working though, at least on the forums we've got time to consider carefully before hitting the enter button.
