I'm looking for some good software for a wesite I'm creating, I want a good Live chat, E-Card and Forum software.
I'm currently running Ikonboard, which is a great Forum, but a little slow and has far more features than I could ever need.
The chat function used in vBulletin, and that would be perfect.
CGI scripts would suit me best, but I'm open to other Ideas.
Only other problem is I'm very tight and want to spend as little as possible if not nothing. maybe SR would give me there forum scripts?

sounds pretty good, don't know how easy it is to setup, I havn't got myslq to try it out on.

basic? peh, there are loads of good php chat rooms avaliable, never heard of one that needs to be refreshed by the user, i'll have a look in a mo for you.

I'm quite happy for the chat to be pretty basic, but I don't want one where users have to refresh all the time to see new messages.

What kind of chat room are you looking for? there are some good Flash ones around, really depends on what you want, there ar some with emicons like MSN Messenger uses, you want PM or not? a list of memers online? you might want to find one that uses the same registration details as your forums, that would be a good idea.
I done the search for the scripts on google already, but I could spend the rest of the year trying them out.

Chat forums: not really sure if they're any good, but just search google.om for free php scripts and you'll find one there.
e-cards: I want to do these to, no doubt it will need php too, but you'll probably have to make the cards yourself, hope you've got Flash5 :)
forums: Phpbb are quite good, used on www.viewandplay.co.uk although it's down at the moment, keep checking to see them, they're free forums, but you need php4 and myslq backup from your host, no idea where your hosting your website from.
