Anyway, in the corner, snuggled amongst the Littered Playstation 2 games and numerous displays of Gameboy Advance boxes and an over the top number of gaming peripherals- there sat- in a a stand gleaming in green- A Microsoft X-BOX.
Now, eventually- I got the chance to play the damn thing after so much hype and so forth, hype that was expected from the corporate behemoth Microsoft.
I walked past the 'Order you Gamecube now stands' glancing slighty, forgetting what I had indeed came in for and walked straight towards the machine to sample a bit of the hype.
On first approach my reaction to the system was-Wow!, It really looks wonderful, it does look sexy and sleek....but it is massive! Really big!...but beautiful to say the least.
After wiping the glass that encased the system, that had been left with an imprint of my face with the condensation fog, I reached for the Controller.
My immediate first reaction was that it isn't as big as people have it out to be, its quite small-in my opinion anyway.
And after holding and examining it, moving it round to look at the belly of the thing, I have to say- it is VERY Dreamcast! It has the analogue triggers in exactly the same positions and works very much in the same way.
Compared to the Dreamcast Controller, it has a few extra buttons above the standard four (I can't remember the button letters) and it has a right analogue stick and a select button called 'Back', to make it seem different to other consoles I assume.
Anyway, enough of all this and to the games-What I first noticed was that it was a demo I had to play and after going through the menu that was on-screen I noticed only a video of Halo and the other games and disappointingly there was just three playable to me being: Amped Snowboarding, Project Gotham Racing and some sort of Mario Party Clone puzzle game (That they managed to pull off for release).
Naturally I went straight to Project Gotham Racing and kept hitting Start to skip the various settings (Automatic Transmission Manual, Street Race-One on One etc) and got into the game.
My Opinion of this isn't too good, I expected more, yes the Graphics where great, but the gameplay and visuals are very much indistinguishable from MSR on the Dreamcast(I know its a sequel)! I expected more from the X-BOX, I expected it to give me eye melting visuals but after finishing the game demo I moved onto Amped Snowboarding, i'd seen this before on Sega's system.
Now, I'm a big fan of 1080 Snowboarding and SSX, so naturally this game was going to be tested to the max when I finished it.
I have to say that yet again, after 15 minutes!! I was left very disappointed. It seemed very slow and the graphics seemed too choppy with frame rates jittering here and there. Again that was not expected. SSX and 1080 have nothing to fear with this title stealing the crown of great Snowboarding games.
So naturally then, yearning for something to impress, I then went back to the menu, to go to the Puzzle game that I forget the name of (Sorry) two goes at it and I was bored (Like I was with Mario Party) and I hit the Back button to get back to the menu and then.....The System crashed!
I'm serious! The X-BOX crashed on me, it wasn't an Invalid page fault error but I was confronted with a screen surrounded in green saying: Please insert a genuine Microsoft X-BOX Disc. I couldn't do anything, I looked over my shoulder to see if any member of staff could help me out but they where too far away to help me . I hit at the Pad's start button, X button, back button, you name it!, but to no avail whatsoever did anything happen!.
I couldn't hit reset to get the console working because it was enshrined in a glass case, so I left the Controller and went on my business to get what I had came in for in the first place-Feeling a little disappointed with Microsoft's offering.
Lets hope it improves in time.

Go spam somewhere else, or at least learn how to use punctuation.
Anyway, I made an X-Box experience topic too. It was allrigh, just not that good.
Neither were Sony before the PSOne man ;)
Yes they had!
They had Soltice 2 Equinox for the Super Nintendo and a few others!
> Why is it that everyone who's played on an Xbox complains about a fault?...They
> must be crap.
So many complaints have been made, but until I play on an Xbox,

The Xbox does look stunning, but Microsoft aren't

Even worse, the PS2 then launched in Europe with a faulty batch which upset even more people.
Now look what happened to it.
Erm...
Apparently 'this is to be expected in all games at some points'.
Microsoft continue to be crap.,
So many complaints have been made, but until I play on an Xbox, I'm not saying anything.

...I must have a go!
