Obviously , there's the usual-
"Grand Theft Auto gets blamed for car stealing joyriders."
or
"Is Tekken responsible for Johnnys violent nature at school?"
But i'm not talking about the newspaper headline stuff, i mean the gentle influence that affects our daily thoughts and the decisions we make.
For example-
I used to work the nightshift, and most nights on my walk to work,i would take a shortcut down a slightly secluded path(nothing too scary ,but still quiet and dark enough to make me uneasy).I would always wonder how i would react if someone were to jump me.
Now i consider myself to be fairly sensible and level headed, but i was playing one of the Tomb Raider games at the time and i'd picture myself somersaulting backwards whilst drawing my pistols from my side, thus thwarting the baddie.
Now that was not just a little fantasy ,sometimes i genuinely believed i'd be able to somersault backwards.
Same goes for the fact that i believe i would be quite good at snowboarding because i'm good at SSX.
Then i'll sit down at the end of the day and realise that some of these thoughts are just absolutely ridiculous ,but that's the power of videogames, they get in your head and stay there.
Am i the only one who's had these thoughts?
Have you made a decision based on what you think Chris Redfield would do?
Please post on this topic and let me know,i'd love to hear other peoples similar experiences.
Just to let you know.
> im constantly thinking stuff like that with all kind of games
....violent games inparticular!
I certainly do- having a life centred around school doesn't help matters- imagination and dreams are a release, and that's why I love games!
Good topic!
Sonic
In other words...Americans!
