If it is the pad thats broke, ring Sony and they will send you a new one, and you can probably keep this pad too, i mean it still works just with no rumble so its worth keeping.

I used a combination of PS1 and PS2 pads for ages. About 5 months until I bought my second DS2 pad.
Never caused any probs for me.

well i've tried taking out the controller, but still no results.

the thing i think that could have caused the problem is that i was trying to play gt3 on two player mode with my brother but had only one ps2 controller, so on the intro i selected english and then swaped the controller with a ps1 controller, and pluged the ps2 one in the second port and it seems to work fine in two player mode. maybe this could have caused the problem?

Well, that means there must be a connection problem in your pad.

Take your pad out and dust the plug-in at the end of the lead.

Any better?

The game might be faulty.
If your pad works with every other game you then it could be the game,go borrow a mates copy and try your pad with theirs.
If it still doesn't work and your station is still under gaurentee with Sony(taking into mind that you needed to have sent the form off to get the gaurentee)
Then they *might* replace your pad.
