Nintendo do seem to be particulary interested in keeping piracy down to a minimum where their consoles are concerned, they stuck with catridges for N64 despite being fully aware that they appeared dated and Sony were milking the market with its copy haven Playstaion. Nintendo then decided to use 1.5gb 8cm discs for the GC which are not exactly as easy to pick up as say 800mb mainstream discs, i applaud Nintendo for that, piracy is theft and should not be encouraged or advocated in any shape or form.

Basically, 'The Master' is the idiot formally known as ~res~...

He's 20 and still seems to have a personal problem with the Gamecube...

Me thinks he needs a tiny bit of help...

You can download Xbox games off of the internet and play them on your Xbox btw if I havn't written that!

It needs to be cracked but after that you can download games and play them or just copy entire games to your NEW hard drive and it still works...

They are DVD discs

and why wouldnt you want one?
GC games are on the whole better to play than xbox, with the obvious exceptions of Splinter Cell, Unreal Championship and maybe Halo.
GC has games liek Metroid Prime, Resi games, Mario, Eternal Darkness etc etc.

as i have stated in every forum on this site except this one so far, it isnt the console its the games that count!

you could have a stupidly powerful console with wonderful graphics but if the gameplay is wánk then what really is the point??

I think GC will probably be the last one to be cracked. I remember when the Dream Cast had the 1GB disks people copied them onto 700mb normal CD's by extracting stuff from the game, like cut scenes e.t.c. The Dream Cast was easily cracked, as you didnt even need a chip, some games were also self booting.

The GC has 1.5 GB disks so I doubt that anyone has a copier for this kind of disc. The normal 8cm CD's will fit into the GC but at 200mb that is 1.3GB short of what is needed. I hope that the GC is the first console to be copy proof, hopefully the next gen consoles will also be pirate proof. Pirating costs the games industry billions each year, we are paying for it as the games compainies need to make that money back some how, good job SR sell games cheaper :).

i hate having pirate console games. it reminds me of poor kids on cancil estates.

to me people who have pirate console games are normally sad idiots that go and find all the cheats to finish the game the same day they brought it too.

it's not like there that exspensive, i'd rather have a manual and a nice cover as well plus the abilty to use the game online.

It is possible...

I know someone who replaces the hard drive and allows you to either download the games from the net or just copy games to the hard drive for you to play...

You can't play Xbox live if you do that though!
