Where is everyone?

I was expecting it to be quiet next week because of the launch of MGS2. (Tyla has booked the day off - he'll be gutted if the post runs a day late!) It was the same with the launch of GT3 and GTA3. It was dead for about a week, and then all the posts started flooding in along the lines of "this bit is soooo cool" and "how do I do this".

But I think I might have got it worked out. Just before SSX Tricky was released, I was deep in Klonoa 2. A fantastic game, doubtless, but I knew from the experience of the first SSX and how it took over my entire life, that if I don't complete Klonoa before the launch of Tricky, I'll never get around to it.

How many games have you got on your shelf at home where you were really into it, and then you get this killer game that takes you over, and all your other games are forgotten? I must have about 15 games at least at home which I havent finished, Jak and Daxter being the current reason, but then I'm trying to rag through it because of MGS2.

So what are you going to do? Ask developers not to release games until they have had a reasonable amount of time since the last release to finish it? Obviously not! They want to make their cash as much as you want the games.

Your only option is to get these other games out of the way. Not a nice way to put it, and not a very nice way to play games, rushing through them to be ready for the next game release, but it has to be done or they will never be finished.

So where is everyone? Playing Jak and Daxter, GTA3, WRC, GT3, Tricky, DMC, and a bunch more great games while they can, because come the 5th, and they will all be forgotten!

I'm sat at work - quiet day, nothing to do... listening to the latest Alanis album... and I can't think of a darn thing to write about.

Except... roll on 5:30, cos I'm bored out of my tiny mind.

I think it's just quiet because it's Friday, and no one can really be bothered.

And it's still school time, so all the youngsters still in education aren't about.

As for the rushing through games thing, I agree completely!

I was just getting to grips with GT3, and working my way through quite nicely, when GTA3 comes out.

So I start to play GTA3. I play for ages, and then for various reasons, I stop gaming for a few weeks. Just as I come back to it, the demo's of Rez and WipEout Fusion are in my hands. So I play these all the time.

Then I buy WipEout Fusion.

Then Rez comes out, a week early!

So I have all these half finished games (well, 4 PS2 games, plus a load of DC games) that still need doing.

There;s just not enough hours in the day!

I'm here because I'm playing Planetarion (MMORPG browser based game), and I can post inbetween each hourly update of the Universe Status in that game.

Then I disappear for 10 minutes to sort my planet out, and come back again.

So that theory kinda went out the window.

My PS2 games I play late at night when there's noone about, because that way I don't get interrupted, and I don't have to read the trash that the forums fill up with from closing time onwards :)
