Some of my websites are down due to work on MySQL. Was there advance notification via email about this as it has generated some calls to me? Did I miss something? Please help so I can warn users next time.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Unfortunately the '5 minutes downtime while I copy the data quickly', took a bit longer. Very hard to predict. There was no advanced notification of this as we didn't foresee the problem that we had on the new server, which meant we had to turn off the MySQL service on the old service for a short period.
There will be further downtime of approximately 50 minutes but this will be at some point in the night and probably at the weekend or early next week. I will put a network status message up beforehand about this. This is where we normally post notifications of this type.

You shouldn't be having any problems now though as service was resumed at about 11.55AM. If you are, then please send us a support ticket.

Thanks for the reply. The advance notice will be useful, especially if the downtime happens during the day, including weekends.
I'll try and keep it to the night, providing I don't fall asleep first!
