Man I made the mistake of stumbling into the Sony forum and the noise in there is deafening.
"State of Emergency sucks! It's nothing like GTA3, I prefer GTA3! It's dull! It's repetitive!"

So SOA isn't GTA3?
*claps very, very slowly*

What gave it away? Was it the different name on the box? Or perhaps the total lack of any similarity in gaming? Or maybe it was the cartoony graphics?
I'm stumped as to just how people have realised it's NOT THE SAME GAME AT ALL.
Did you hear that? Do I need to repeat it for the Scopes?

"I took it back after 2 days"
Good for you, and what did you get?
Gran Turismo 3 perhaps? Where you...um...start race, try to win, start another race, try to win, start another race, try to win (anyone seeing a pattern here?).
Or GTA3, where you went to one place and got a mission, drove to another place and rammed someone off the road or got out and killed someone.
Did you get either of those?
Because god knows they're not repetitive at all are they? No sir.

I think some of you need to learn your gaming history before you step to the plate and offer your opinion on why SOA is "boring" "Repetitive" "Samey".
Try playing Target Renegade or Streets of Rage, which was exactly the same thing and not even in 3D.
SOA is about running about smashing people to bits and that's it.
Pure, simple gaming.
The graphics rock and the little touches make it class to play for me. The announcements on the tannoys, the names of the shops etc.
But to be honest, I'm too busy running about being chased by 10 cops to stop and notice.

Yes, you can boil it down to "Get mission, run here, beat him up and etc"
However, you can do that with any game.
Racing Games? Come 1st, improve car, come 1st.
Mario? Jump here, get star, jump there.

It's all about whether you enjoy the game or not.
I love this game, because I've got others where I can spend hours thinking about it.
Commandos 2 rocks, but each level can take 3hrs+ to complete, with strategic thinking.
GTA3 is a laugh, but when you can't be bothered to do missions, what do you do?
Get out the car and start attacking pedestrians until you get arrested/shot.

SOA is nothing more than an amusing,well-made way to spend an hour when you don't feel like immersing yourself in an entire gaming world and undertaking massive tasks for a reward.
This game is about running over to a rocket launcher, firing it into a crowd and then getting jumped by 15 agents.

It's fun.
And that's the important word here, FUN.
Not deep and involving, not massive plot with awesome FMV, just the chance to leg it through a mall with an Uzi shooting fat blokes carrying TVs.

It rocks.

Glad you got your money's worth. But it seems as though you are the only person (that is the legal age to play it) that actually likes it.

PS2 Crew?

*stifles laughter*

Like So Solid Crew, but they can't decide which one is best and chase their tails until they get dizzy.

You wen tinto the Sony forum!

Hahahaha!

So which possé are you in now then, the PS2 Crew, or the Sony Cronies?

I don't think that I'm down with them homies myself, but I'll try and get in.

Actually I've been playing Streets of Rage lately, because it's a type of game that has been missing lately, so if SOE captures some of that, it's a good thing.
