We've all enjoyed console gaming. Some f us have had a number of different consoles in the past. Most of this consoles are good to us, they let us play their games, let us use their controllers, and we get enjoyment out of them. But it isn't always like this. Sometimes our consoles turn on us, or do wrong by us. No longer are they faithful friends, but sworn enemies. What makes this happen to a console? Maybe it saw you looking at another, maybe it's a design fault. Either way I'm here today to tell you what can happen...

...WHEN GOOD CONSOLES GO BAD!!!

Throughout their history some consoles have done some very bad things, either rending themselves useless, or making their owners no longer desire to use them. The first reported case of this was an Atari 2600. One of those fancy looking onces with the wooden finish. After a pretty lengthy game of Combat, pb decided he fancied a bit of Ms Pacman. However, it was when he tried to remove his Combat cartidge that he found out what happens...

...WHEN GOOD CONSOLES GO BAD!!!

Pulling on the cartridge he found that it wouldn't come easily. Eventually it came out in his hand, but when he tried to put Ms Pacman in there was some kind of obstruction. Placing Ms Pacman carefully away pb looked inside his Atari, and to his horror discovered part of the Combat cartridge remained held between it's teeth. Never again could pb play his Atari 2600, but he knows what happens...

It's not just old consoles that do this though. Even the most recent console released in this country the Playstation 2 sometimes doesn't behave. Ant was unfortunate enough to discover that his pride and joy had betrayed him...

...WHEN GOOD CONSOLES GO BAD!!!

Smuggler's Run was a game that Ant really enjoyed, he thought it was great. Many an hour passed as he raced along, jaw dropping at the great graphics. However, when he finished his session, and put the game away, it was when he discovered what had happened. His Playstation 2, perhaps bitter because of the attention Ant had been giving his story writing recently, had scored a deep scratch into the disc, rending it useless. Could Ant possibly trust it with another game? He thought not, and immediatly sought out a replacement from Sony, who had recieved many calls on the matter. They have expect knowledge in the field of...

These events are relatively trivial though in comparison to what happened to er-no, and his special ROB until that came with his NES.

er-no loved nothing more than ROB helping him to switch games, and found it very handy, and somewhat amusing.. Maybe ROB didn't like the laughter, thought er-no was luaghing at him? Either way it wasn't lon gbefore er-no discovered what happens...

...WHEN GOOD CONSOLES GO BAD!!!

When switching between Super Mario Bros 2 and Legend of Zelda ROB struck with devestating results. He crushed 2 of er-no's favourite games between his strong plastic claws. er-no's face froze, two of his favourite games destroyed by this nasty robot. Fueled with anger, he grabbed the nearest thing to him, an old viynl record of his Dads'. er-no smashed it over ROB's head, but the record smashed, and ROB continued to function. Fortunateley for er-no he was able to reach the swich, and turn it off for ever. That wouldn't replace his games though, and his father would be furious about the record. But that's what can happen...
