right i have had this really weird idea it might sound a bit strange, but if all the games manufactures decided on one specification 4 pc (lets say p800 256ram)and made all there games around this specification then it would save the companys alot of money (apart from the hardware designers but who cares about them)so then u wouldnt have 2 keep on upgrading your pc. and they could bring up da specification once everyone has got a faster pc.

p.s
that might of confused alot of people

Why keep it the same spec? it would be nice if PCs were sold like consoles, one for all maybe, but that wouldn't suit everyone, my dad wants a pc for work he doesn't want games, so he could pay £300 for a 600Mhz pc and be very happy, i'd like the latest (although I can't afford it) so I got a 1.3Mhz with some good trimmings...etc, i'm happy but it doen't run good games at good speeds, but it does other things like make music, fast videos, pretty much next to no slow down on most things other than games but i'm still happy.

thing is, if things don't get faster, then it would be boring, game manufacturers would be very limited, faster pcs = better quality games, I want GTA3 on my pC, pretty sure no pc would be able to run it aswell as a PS2. and more than definatly most good games wouldn't stand a chance on a P800, might aswell get a pen and paper and draw the game yourself, maybe i'm just being sinical.

But what about people that actually wanted to? My whole reason for having a pc is to tweak, mod and upgrade, something I can work on, I don't like just -using- it. There are unofficial specifications really, developers tend to keep the minimum specs around a certain point, which gradually increases...currently around 400-500mhz, but the graphics card is becoming far more important than your cpu now.

Knowing that you knew that this may confuse a lot of people, I am still pondering why you would post a topic that would be non-sensical to the majority. Knowing that you knew that we knew that you knew that the topic would make litte sense, then this strengthens my point.

PS This may have confused you
