6)Join the Euro? 8 - concerns about the different structures of UK and European economies that could mean a Central European Bank's interest rates would muck up the UK economy. Apart from that the Euro is a good idea because it will promote trade and trade makes us all better off. I have diagrams to prove it...
7)Fluency in French: Pretty high, 9 - I'm doing it for A-level. I can understand 90% of what I hear/read and can string a sentence or three together.
8)Importance of Foreign Languages: 8 because politeness is important even if everyone else does speak English...
9)Confidence in speaking French: 10 because I had to do a French exchange. I was forced to speak French after my exchange partner's mother served up raw meat for the third day running. If you pushed it with your fork it oozed blood. So I spent about 10 minutes trying to explain why needed well-done meat. After that most things are fairly easy to explain...
10)Foreign Languages: 3 - I did GCSE Spanish, I do A-level French and I did AS level Latin, but that doesn't really count...
